Louie O'Doherty added another major title to his collection after producing a commanding twelve-round performance against previously undefeated Ahmed Hatim in Doncaster.
Making the first defence of his British lightweight title, O'Doherty also had the vacant Commonwealth championship at stake.
Rain had soaked the Eco-Power Stadium and created difficult conditions around the ring, but O'Doherty remained composed throughout the twelve-round contest.
The judges returned scores of:
119–109
118–110

118–110
in the champion's favour.
The result handed Hatim the first defeat of his professional career and saw O'Doherty leave Doncaster holding both the British and Commonwealth lightweight titles.
Another unbeaten opponent.
Another championship.
Another step forward.
