Louie O’Doherty made a winning start to life as a professional boxer on 13 May 2023.
Facing Adauto Silva Dos Santos at The Peacock in Canning Town, London, the Essex lightweight completed four professional rounds and earned a points victory on his debut.
It was the beginning of a new chapter following a successful amateur career that had included becoming England Boxing National Amateur Champion the previous year.
The professional game would quickly bring new opponents, longer contests and increasingly significant nights.
Within his first year as a professional, O'Doherty would progress from four and six-round contests to challenging for his first professional championship.
